BS 8888 - Executive overview
What is it?
A
½ day overview of BS 8888 and the ISO standards that it is
linked to.
This course explains why BS 308 was withdrawn, and why BS
8888 was introduced.
The new standard implements the ISO system for Technical Product
Specification, which covers the definition of work piece geometry,
surface and edge requirements, and its presentation in 2D or 3D
format.
The Executive Overview is appropriate for managers, supervisors, and
decision makers, who need a broad-brushstrokes understanding of the
requirements of the standard and its implementation.
- Learn how BS 8888 differs from BS 308.
- Discover the benefits of the ISO system of
Geometrical Product Specification.
- Find out what you need to do to comply with the standards.
BS 8888 is now referenced from Def Stan
05-10 in place of BS 308 (so new defence contracts will need to comply
with BS 8888)
Who is it for?
Managers, supervisors and decision-makers in
manufacturing industry.
This course can also be used as an introduction
for designers, engineers and technical staff who will go on to take
more detailed practitioner's courses.
